Kalu was declared the winner of the Abia North senatorial zone election at the Ohafia collation centre by INEC’s returning officer, Chinedu Nnamdi.
However the Abia Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress, in a statement by the chairman, Prince Ulu Onwuchekwa, on Thursday, while lauding Senator Kalu’s recent reelection for second term in office, noted the party is overwhelmed on the emergence of the current majority chief whip of the senate and described the latter’s triumph in recently-conducted senatorial poll in Abia north district as well deserved.
The APC leadership commended members of the party and the electorates across all electoral wards of the local government areas that formed present Abia north senatorial zone for reaffirming their trust and steadfast loyalty once again, repose in one of the finest leaders and current chief whip of the senate, Dr Orji Uzor-Kalu through the ballots.
The party also reaffirmed its unwavering belief in Senator Kalu’s character, capacity and competence to represent the Senatorial zone in the yet-to-be inaugurated 10th senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is worthy of appreciation.
According to the local government chapter of the party, “APC Bende LGA greatly appreciates our great leader’s campaign Orgainzation, all support groups in Bende LGA and Abia north.
“We pray that God almighty reward you all for your invaluable contributions to this momentous victory”.
The Abia leadership also used the medium to urge the close opponents of Senator Kalu at the concluded elections to accept defeat in good faith and join hands with the federal lawmaker to engender more developmental strides in every part of Abia north district.
