35-year-old Collins Yagbil who sacrificed his daughter and wife for rituals at his shrine in his home a Kulpelga Community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region is believed to be mad according to close relations.

They disclosed to Upper East Regional Correspondent of MyNewsGh.com on Tuesday that he started behaving funny sometime back but they thought he was possessed by the spirits of the shrine which he worships.

According to the family spokesperson, little they did they know that he was developing a mental problem until the gruesome murder of his daughter and wife last Thursday.

Collins is still being interrogated by investigators of Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after he was arrested last Thursday afternoon.

It would be recalled that MyNewsGh.com last Thursday 27, June 2019, reported of how the suspect who is into rituals dragged his 8-year-old son into a shrine to sacrifice him to his gods.

After slashing the throat of the boy and spilling the blood on the gods, the little girl screamed which angered the father to behead and cut off both hands..

Sensing danger, his wife attempted to shout and draw the attention of their neighbours but was attacked by the husband and beheaded as well.

Police however reveal that the boy is in critical condition and has been admitted at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.

The situation led to a scuffle between the woman’s families who are in-laws to the suspect to storm the community to lynch him but met a resistance from the community members.
