Angry residents of Assin Odumanim in the Assin South District of the Central Region have warned their MP, Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour and the DCE Hon. Derry Ambrose not to make the mistake of coming over to the town to campaign ahead of the elections if they are not able to provide them with potable water.

According to residents, the duo has really disappointed them as they’ve failed to fulfill their 2016 campaign massage of providing them with water.

“We share the same water with animals such as pigs, goats, sheep, and many more which is not hygienic to our health. We are warning the Member of Parliament for Assin South Hon Rev. Ntim Fordjour and the District Chief Executive Hon. Ambrose Derry not to dream of coming to our community to campaign else they will regret it” some incensed residents fumed after embarking on a demonstration on Wednesday.

The Unit committee member of the community, Kobee on his part added that their MP and the DCE only need their vote and have never sought their welfare.

They don’t think about our health and how can we go and vote while we are sick? We are warning our MP and the DCE not to bother themselves to come and campaign in our community.”

The Chief of the town, Nana Okpoti Annang told Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan that, the poor state of the water they consume has caused many residents to fall sick.

People in this town are suffering from bilharzia, elephantiasis, Cholera, and many water bone diseases. Rev. John Ntem Fordjour and Hon. Ambrose Derry have really disappointed us and they will certainly pay for that come 2020 general elections. The government is saying we should eat well to boost our immune system in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak but look at the kind of water we drink her and it very dangerous than the COVID 19.”
