In a significant boost to Ghana’s economy, President Akufo-Addo has commissioned a brand-new oil and gas services terminal at the Port of Takoradi. The $100 million facility, which spans an impressive 31 times football park size, is a “bold testament” to the nation’s economic progress and its vision to become a hub in the upstream business

 

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of this critical investment in the sector. “This critical investment in the sector affirms our commitment to enhance economic opportunities,” he stated. The terminal is expected to provide a wide range of services, including logistics, fabrication, and maintenance, to support the oil and gas industry in Ghana.

 

The new terminal is a significant milestone in Ghana’s quest to become a major player in the oil and gas industry. The facility is designed to provide a one-stop-shop for oil and gas companies operating in Ghana, offering a range of services that will help to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase productivity.

 

President Akufo-Addo also reiterated his government’s commitment to establishing Ghana’s third commercial port in Keta Municipality in the Volta Region . This move is expected to further boost Ghana’s economy by increasing trade and commerce.
