MyNewsGh.com has confirmed that the 43-year-old woman Chinese woman who was arrested by the Northern Regional Police Command for allegedly possessing large quantities of rosewood illegally, jumped bail and her whereabouts unknown has been rearrested.
Checks at the Northern Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) reveal that she was arrested on Monday night and is currently in their custody.
The suspect was arrested with two trucks carrying four containers of rosewood from the Savannah Region last month
Upon her arrest, Helen Huang allegedly claimed ownership of the rosewood, adding that she had the right documents to cover the rosewood but failed to produce the documents.
The suspect was transporting the rosewood through the Northern Region to Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
A Tamale-based freelance journalist, Mohammed Bondirigbum got himself in a big trouble after standing surety for Ms Helen Huang who went missing thereafter until her arrest on Monday, June 24, 2019.
Mr. Bondirigbum who was held responsible when he failed to produce her in court, claimed he knew the whereabouts of the suspect and would need up to 30 days to produce her and absolve himself of prosecution expressing regrets for involving himself in Helena Huang’s case.
