Agradaa Reignites Feud with Empress Gifty, Challenges “Noko” Trademark and Vehicle License

The ongoing legal saga between the General Overseer of Heaven Way Chapel, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, and gospel musician Empress Gifty has taken yet another contentious turn. Agradaa has once again publicly lashed out at Empress Gifty, deepening their well-publicized animosity following a significant defamation lawsuit.

The acrimonious relationship between the two public figures escalated weeks ago when Empress Gifty filed a hefty GH¢20 million defamation suit against Agradaa, alleging a series of derogatory remarks made by the preacher. This high-profile legal battle has since captivated media attention across Ghana.

The “arch-rivals” made their initial appearance before the Tema High Court on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, for the commencement of the trial. Empress Gifty’s arrival at the courthouse drew particular notice as she drove in a distinctive black Toyota vehicle bearing the customized number plate “Noko 1-25.” This specific detail appears to have fueled Agradaa’s latest verbal offensive.

In a recent development, Agradaa took to social media, specifically a Facebook Live session, to lambast Empress Gifty. During her broadcast, Agradaa vehemently asserted that she is the rightful and registered owner of the trademark “Noko Fine,” further stating that she has registered it for a pet business. To substantiate her claims, the preacher displayed documents on screen, purporting to show that her “Noko Fine” trademark is officially documented under Ghana’s Registrar General.

“I hereby certify that the following business name has been registered under the above-mentioned act as No. BN 623560525 with Noko Fine pet shop, 2025. The Noko is for me, it has been registered with the Registrar General. I am waiting for the right time to attack you,” Agradaa declared, explicitly stating her intention to use this registration as a weapon in their legal fight.

Agradaa didn’t stop there. She further escalated the dispute by alleging that Empress Gifty’s black Toyota vehicle, prominently displayed at the court during their first hearing, is not properly licensed by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). Her claim directly targeted the legality of the custom “Noko 1-25” number plate.

“You have a number plate Noko, meanwhile that hasn’t gone through DVLA. You don’t have the right to move the car with the fake number plate. The Noko has been gazetted by me. The date and time I registered will determine when we go to court,” Agradaa asserted, suggesting that the date of her “Noko Fine” registration could hold legal implications against Empress Gifty’s use of a similar term on her vehicle.

Background of the Legal Tussle:

The origins of this heated legal confrontation trace back to Empress Gifty’s decision to file a lawsuit against Agradaa. The gospel musician accused Agradaa of making defamatory remarks about her publicly, leading to the substantial GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit. This case has since garnered widespread attention, showcasing a bitter personal and legal struggle between two prominent figures in Ghana’s entertainment and religious spheres. As the court proceedings continue, the public remains keenly interested in how these new allegations and counter-allegations will influence the ongoing legal battle.
