Advise from my mother, family has helped me to be calmer when engaging the media – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has disclosed that he is now calmer when engaging with the media, thanks to advice from his mother and some other family members.

In his first stint as Black Stars head coach, many thought the gaffer was overly emotional during his press engagements.

But since his reappointment, people have praised Coach Otto Addo for his approach to the media.

Asked about this in an interview with 3Sports, Coach Otto Addo said it’s because of advice from his mother.

“I don’t know if my approach was that different. My mother talked to me about taking off my emotions, even if I don’t like some questions. My family asked me to solve this and to be calm. I have been talking to the FA president and the head of communications, who also gave me good advice. I think I learned not to be too emotional, even if there are questions I don’t like. I think it keeps me calm,” he said.

Coach Otto Addo has started his second stint on a very good note.

He steered the Black Stars to wins over Mali and the Central African Republic to get Ghana back on track in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
