Adadientam chief appeals for infrastructure support after self-funded road project

The Chief of Akyem Adadientam in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, Barima Ofori Asante, has appealed to the government and development agencies to provide the community with essential infrastructure to improve living standards and drive economic growth.

Barima Ofori Asante, who has shown a strong commitment to community development, funded the construction of a 1.2-kilometre major town road with support from his elders — fulfilling a promise he made during his installation in December 2022.

The newly constructed road is expected to ease movement and stimulate economic activities in the area.

Despite this milestone, the chief emphasized the need for further development, including potable water, modern classroom blocks, and improved road networks.

He also appealed to the Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly to restore streetlights in the community, noting that the lack of lighting poses a serious security risk at night.

Barima Ofori Asante further urged the authorities to create job opportunities for the youth, stressing the importance of tackling unemployment challenges in Akyem Adadientam.
