Aburi Girls’ headmistress dies while on assignment in Italy

The Aburi Girls Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region is mourning the sudden passing of their beloved Headmistress, Cynthia Anim.

The unfortunate tragic event occurred while she was in Rome, Italy, attending an educational workshop alongside the Deputy Minister of Education, fellow heads of senior high schools, and selected students.

Anim, a dedicated and accomplished educator, was participating in an international workshop aimed at improving the quality of secondary education in Ghana when the unfortunate incident occurred.

In a formal announcement, the Chairman of the school’s Board of Governors, Rev. E.A. Asiedu, expressed the deep sorrow felt by the entire school community.

“With the sure hope of the Resurrection, we regret to inform honourable members of the sad and distressing news of the passing of our Headmistress, Mrs. Cynthia Anim.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and the entire Aburi Girls Senior High School community”.

In light of this tragic loss, an emergency board meeting has been scheduled for Monday, 30th September, at 10 a.m. in the school’s Boardroom to discuss the way forward and arrangements in the wake of Mrs. Anim’s passing.

Anim was known for her leadership, commitment to education, and tireless efforts in advancing the academic excellence of Aburi Girls Senior High School.
