Ablakwa goes after BoG governor and his deputies again over alleged state land grabbing
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has criticised the governor of the Bank of Ghana and his deputies for justifying the purchase of state lands at underpriced values.
According to Ablakwa, who is on a crusade against what he calls state capture and land looting by government appointees under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he had listened to a news report in which the Governor and his deputies confirmed what he termed as “obscene land-grabbing hooliganism.”
Taking to Twitter to lament the issue on September 3, 2024, he stated,” “Governor Addison and his deputies have confirmed their obscene land-grabbing hooliganism. A while ago, I listened to a Joy FM news report on Ghana’s central bank Governor and his deputies affirming my oversight findings regarding their conduct in purchasing grossly undervalued prime state lands from President Akufo-Addo under opaque circumstances as contained in my latest State Capture exposé.
“It is most deplorable for the BoG Governor and his deputies to justify their grave misconduct and to further suggest that their unconscionable land grab under the cover of darkness would not affect their independence,” he said.
The North Tongu legislator added,” Ghanaians are very much aware of the damage already done to our economy due to the notorious collusion with the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration in illegally printing money and engaging in that dubiously inflated head office project.
“Why would any patriotic Ghanaian accept to buy a plot of land at Cantonments for less than GHS190,000? How ironic that our central bank governors who demand integrity and ethical leadership from those they supervise consistently fail the test.
“I can’t wait for the implementation of Operation-Retrieve-All-Loot under the next NDC administration. State Capture shall surely be defeated!”
