A/R: Police investigate woman’s murder

Police at the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region have commenced investigations into the murder of a woman believed to be in her 30s at Aboaso.

The deceased, yet to be identified, was found dead in a pool of blood at a plantain farm on Monday, 7 January 2019.

Police say she was stabbed twice in the neck with a knife before she was dragged to the plantain farm where cement blocks were used to hit the head several times before she died.

DSP Gilbert Kublenu, the Mampongten Divisional Crime Officer, told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah, that a knife with blood stains was found about 20 metres away from the crime scene. Some pieces of cement blocks suspected to have been used to hit the head of the deceased were also found at the scene.

The deceased is yet to be identified, he said, adding that police are making efforts to get relatives of the deceased to identify her.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at Emmanuel Mortuary at Ankaase as police commence investigations into the circumstance that led to the death of the woman.

Mr Charles Adu, the Unit Committee Chairman of Aboaso also revealed that several cases of armed robbery attacks have been recorded in the area.

He pleaded with police to intensify security to curb rising crime cases in the vicinity.
