Kumasi residents warn Mahama over free SHS denunciation

Some residents of Kumasi – the Ashanti regional capital – have launched a scathing attack on ex-President John Dramani Mahama.
According to them, they are not happy with Mr. Mahama’s continuous effort to discredit the free senior high school (SHS) policy by government.
In a vox pop by DAILY GUIDE, some of the residents predicted that Mr. Mahama would lose the 2020 polls miserably due to his hatred for the free SHS policy.
Mr. Mahama recently lambasted the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, accusing it of lacking “common sense”. He also descended heavily on the government for introducing the double-track system, saying that the NPP government lacks proper planning.
But most of the people the paper spoke to described Mr. Mahama as a nation-wrecker, who doesn’t want the best for Ghana.
“Mahama and the NDC will get less that 20 per cent of votes during the 2020 presidential elections because of his hate for the free SHS programme. This is a policy that has benefited every Ghanaian and we are surprised that Mr. Mahama hates this policy,” one Kwadwo Kwarteng of Asafo said.
Lydia Opoku of Atasemanso, on her part, said “Mr. Mahama is digging his own grave by kicking against the free SHS policy; this policy has come to stay”.
Kennedy Otchere of Santasi said the free SHS is the best social intervention policy ever in Ghana’s history and he was surprised Mr. Mahama hates the policy.
“We now have money in our pockets because of the free SHS programme and we are grateful to President Akufo-Addo and Napo,” he added.
Afua Fofie of Krofrom also said, “I will personally campaign so that Mr. Mahama loses the 2020 polls. Mahama doesn’t have Ghana’s interest at heart”.
