A/R: Burnt cars and shops: We suspect JUJU- Victims reveal

Traders, mechanics and garage owners whose shops and vehicles were burnt in a fire outbreak at Dichemso in the Kumasi metropolis in the Ashanti region, on the early hours of last week Thursday are attributing it sorcery.

“It is beyond our understanding markets in the metropolis are burning just like that. …maybe there are bad forces behind this”, some traders spoke to MyNewsGh.comwho visited the scene.

“People are practicing different religions here including sorcery and other evil practices”, some victims revealed amidst of crying.

Several properties including mini buses, salon cars, fitting equipment and vehicle spare parts are among other properties burnt into ashes that run into thousands of Ghana cedis

According to a resident who was an eyewitness, he told MyNewsGh.com the fire started at 2 am Thursday and efforts made by residents to put out the fire proved futile.

“When the fire started we [residents] mobilized ourselves to put out the fire, which has started at one shop, with the pouring of water but we couldn’t so it spread to the other shops where the vehicles were packed,” he said.

One of the owners whose shop were burnt, Abdul Raman, also told the reporters that he was at home when he had a call that his shop was on fire, he quickly came to scene and was nothing he could the help the situation.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS)  is yet to conduct scientific investigation to ascertain the real causes of fires in the markets recently including that of the latest at Dichemso.
