A/R: 8 dead, many injured in Boankra accident (PHOTOS)

Eight people have been confirmed dead in a gory accident at Boankra in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Several passengers were also injured in the fatal accident that occurred Friday morning when a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number GT 5249 – 17 with passengers from Kumasi en route to Konongo collided head-on with a Man Diesel truck with registration number ER 5382 – X loaded with tyres from Accra and headed to Kumasi.

ACP Laar Baman, the Ejisu Divisional Police Commander, told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah in an interview that five females and three males were among the deceased.

The survivors and the bodies have been conveyed to the Konongo and Ejisu government hospitals.
