A/R: 2 dead, 13 injured in fatal accident at Kona

Two persons have been confirmed dead while 13 others are in critical condition in a fatal accident at Kona in the Afigya Sekyere District of the Ashanti region, MyNewsGh.com has filed

The incident occurred when a Ssangyong urvan bus with registration number AW 6665-12 collided head-on with a Hyundai Santafe vehicle with registration number GS-3076-11 on the Agona-Mampong road on Sunday.

According to an eyewitness, the Ssangyong urvan vehicle loaded with passengers and enroute to Kumasi somersaulted severally after the driver tried to save an overtaking private car from crashing into it.

According to the eyewitnesses, two people died on the spot while others sustained varying degree of injuries.

The somersaulted vehicle knocked down a pedestrian and collided with the Hyundai Santafe vehicle.

The bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at Zion Praise hospital morgue while the injured people receiving treatment at the same facility.

Those whose injuries are severe have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, the regional capital.

Police in the area have confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com but indicate that investigations have since commenced into the incident.
