Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has been ranked the 99th most valuable player in the world by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES).

In a weekly letter released on Monday, the Atletico Madrid midfielder was valued at 48.5 million Euros and placed a spot above Real Sociedad’s Martin Ordegaard.

Leading the African list are Liverpool forwards Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane with the Egyptian occupying the top position with an estimate of 144.9million.

Mane is second best and estimated at 139.2 million Euros.

Thomas Partey who less than two years left on his current deal with Atletico has been heavily linked with Arsenal.

There were reports last week that a deal has been agreed between Partey and the London-based club but sources close to the player have denied it.

While confirming negotiations between the two parties, our source indicated that a common ground is yet to be found.

He added that while a move England appeals to the players, an extension of his stay at Atletico Madrid cannot be ruled out.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is said to be a big fan of the Ghanaian is determined to bring him to the Emirates.

With Torreira rumoured to be interested in a return to Italy, Arteta sees the Black Stars midfielder as the perfect replacement for the Uruguayan.

Partey is under pressure to make a move to England and walk in the steps of Chelsea legend Michael Essien.

His father has publicly urged him to join Arsenal while his close pal in the national team, Nuhu Adams has also endorsed a move to North London.
