Armed robbers attack DCE’s vehicle; Driver, 2 others killed
News reaching Mynewsgh confirms that the official vehicle of the District Chief Executive(DCE) of the Amansie South District Assembly, Honourable William Asante Bediako was on Monday night attacked by armed robbers.
Though the DCE was not in the vehicle at the time, his driver only identified as Agya Sei and two others were shot dead by the robbers as he tried to pass a road blockage mounted by the robbers at Dadiese.
Assemblyman for Area Hon Anthony Mpatuam who confirmed the unfortunate incident, told Opoku Yiadom Prince popularly known as Oheneba of Adwenpa Fm at Nkawie that the DCE sent the driver with the vehicle to deliver something to someone at Daatano, a farming community in the area.
“He is popularly known as Osei or Agya Sei. He was sent by DCE William Asante Bediako to deliver a parcel to someone at Daatano. On his return, the robbers were in operation as they had already robbed occupants of other vehicles. He was stopped but he refused and tried to drive past but they fired indiscriminately and he was hit by the bullet. Two others persons have also been killed and we are yet to ascertain their identity”, he revealed
