Central Region: Man pours acid on wife

The Awutu Beraku District Police Command in the Central Region has arrested a 42-year old man, Kofi Gabriel, for pouring acid on his wife.

Kofi Gabriel bolted after the incident but was arrested at his hideout in a cemetery. Residents explained that Kofi Gabriel poured the acid on the wife out of jealousy.

They said the wife had threatened to quit the marriage because of skirmishes in the marriage, but Kofi Gabriel, who would not let her leave the marriage, poured the acid on her in the process.

 

 

Confirming the incident to PrimeNewsGhana, the Awutu Beraku District Police Commander, DSP Johnson Hessey, said they arrested the suspect, Kofi Gabriel, at a cemetery and is currently in the police custody.

DSP Hessey said information gathered by police indicates that the 32-year-old trader [name withheld] had reported the misunderstanding in the marriage to the head of family of Kofi Gabriel and the issue was resolved.

 

The Commander said Kofi Gabriel will be arranged before court.
