The Omanhene of the Tepa Traditional Area, Nana Atwenewa Ampem I, has criticized successive governments for their failure to continue projects started by previous administrations.

According to him, the trend is not only wrong but very detrimental to the country’s development.

Nana Ampem spoke during a courtesy call on him as part of a tour by the Minority in Parliament to Tepa.

“The country needs a policy to ensure that successive governments continue projects of other administrations. The NPP must continue projects started by the NDC government for the NDC to do same. I know former President Kufuor began the affordable housing project in Kumasi but the NDC did not continue during their tenure. The project has still not been completed. How then will the NPP complete projects initiated by the NDC?” he said

Former President John Mahama has on several occasions slammed the NPP government for abandoning projects that were started during his tenure in office.

One of the abandoned projects is a Community Day School at Mpaha in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency of the Savanna Region.

On a two-day working visit to the region last month, he condemned the current government’s decision to stop paying for ongoing projects, at the same time refusing to put many completed projects into use.

However, the NPP government has on different occasions denied allegations of abandoning projects, and announced plans of completing all infrastructure projects started by previous administrations.
