There was pandemonium at Komfuor Nkwanta near Obuasi in the Adansi Akrofrom District when a 16-year old girl, had her wrist chopped off following a misunderstanding over a pair of bathroom slippers, also known as ‘Chale Wate’ by her ‘lover’.

The victim, Josephine Amoabeng, who is currently battling for life at the hospital after the incident is suspected to have suffered this fate as a result of vehemently refusing the proposal of the suspect who’s yet to be named.

Close associates of the victim are sure the suspect is still angry by the fact that Josephine had ignored his amorous advances at her not once, twice but on several occasions with no hope in sight.

The girl’s friends indicated that the suspect who keeps pestering Josephine would stop at nothing to have her.

The sad incident happened on a Cocoa Farm at Komfuor Nkwanta near Obuasi in the Adansi Akrofrom District last weekend.

What Happened?

Josephine’s crime was that she had worn the slippers of a colleague, whose name was not immediately known, even though he had been arrested.

Mr Kwadwo Sakyi, father of the victim, narrated that the victim and her friends had visited the farm to cook food on that fateful day.

According to him, Josephine at a point, wore the slippers of the suspect without his (suspect’s) permission, which he said, generated a heated argument.

In an ensuing brawl, the suspect reportedly sustained some minor knife injuries.

He said after the two were separated, and Josephine was busy washing the utensils they had used in the cooking, little did she know that the suspect still harbored some grudge in him.

The suspect, according to him, went for a sharp machete and slashed off the left wrist of unsuspecting Josephine.

He said other people at the scene fled the place out of fear, leaving the victim, who was bleeding profusely, to her fate.
