The West African Leadership Centre for Development, a regional institute committed to capacity advancement of Africa leaders has name Alhaji Salamu Amadu, Group Chairman Of Afro Arab Group Of Companies and nine other Africans as the top ten emerging leaders in west Africa. 

The list was released in a special issue of Lead Magazine for July 2019, a bi annual magazine dedicated to capturing the various endeavours of African leaders.

The list features various African personalities from diverse backgrounds including business, technology, politics, and social enterprise. Other African leaders who made the list include Alhaji Salamu Amadu(Ghana), Dr Chaikou Ahmed Tidiane Balde (Guinea Conakry), Lovell Bai Bangura (Sierra Leone), Joana Gyan (Ghana), Alioune Badara Diop (Senegal), Edak Nkpubre Chionuma (Nigeria), ALhagie Manka (Gambia), Abdulai Bary (Guinea Bissau) and Ibrahim Ton Cisse (Senegal)

The renowned business mogul Alhaji Salamu and other leaders received various categories of awards at the 2019 edition of the West African Leadership Summit and Awards, which was held at the plush oriental hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria.

Chairman as he is affectionately called by his business partners have many accorades for his assiduous works.

West African Leadership centre for development is focused on building capacity of African leaders in West Africa to be responsive, collaborative, representative, resilient and influential through knowledge sharing, learning, connecting and influencing. WALCD was established in 2007 and has its headquarters in Lagos.
