‘NPP Party elders should fear God am not part of their problems”- Suspect in Adams murder
Suspect in the murder of Adams Mahama Upper East Regional Chairman of then opposition New Patriotic Party has said in his statement to the Police that, the ‘NPP Party elders should fear God and take me out of this problem they have put me in’, a copy of which is available to us.
In the bill of indictment, suspect Asabke Alagdi narrated in his statement the ordeal he went through upon leaving the borders of Ghana in apprehension of fear over news on the death of Adams Mahama. Contrary to the continued false narrative and reportage in the Daily Guide Newspaper owned by the wife of Freddy Blay NPP National Chairman and Information Minister Oppong Nkrumah to the extent that, Asabke and his wife had ran away leaving behind his child, the suspect Asabke explained among others that it was his wife who gave his cell phone number to the Police and that “on 21st May, 2015 at about 6:00am I sent my son by name Ayini Alagdi aged 13, to school. Whilst there, I had a call from a police officer who invited me to the regional police headquarters.”
“I called Joe (youth coordinator) and when he picked the call he was crying saying that they (some persons) have poured acid on the deceased and their information was that some of the acid poured on me also, Just then I left the area,”suspect Asabke remarked.
Further to his account, suspect Asabke explained how he kept in touch with his wife and even invited the wife to where he lived ‘This is the place (Masilele) I stayed and I invited my wife who joined me in the last part of August 2018 which she stayed for about two months and I asked her to come back to Ghana after I have given her some money for the children’s upkeep.
To Asabke, “the Police have done their work to bring me back home and what I have to say is that…the (NPP) party elders should FEAR GOD and take me out of this problem they have put me in. I have been in the party since 2001 without any blemish record. So the NPP Party should look into this matter and help me.”
