Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan believes it took Coach Kwasi Appiah too long to introduce him into the game against Cameroon on Saturday.
The country’s all-time top scorer was introduced into the game with 13 minutes to end regulation time and his impact was hugely felt.
The Kayserispor striker believes that the story could have been told differently if he had been introduced into the game a bit earlier.
“Honestly, it’s all about timing. I’m happy that I played but I think I should have been on a bit earlier,” Gyan said after the game.
“During camping, I didn’t have enough time. I’m just coming back to my normal shape. I’m happy I had some game time against Cameroon.
“Hopefully, l get more time against Guinea-Bissau. I don’t know what’s going to happen but let’s be hopeful,” Gyan added.
Ghana will take on the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau in the final Group G clash in a game that will define their fortunes in the competition.
