Mr Douglas Osei Nti, the District Chief Executive Officer for Krachie West in the Oti Region, has said he will be in his office today, Wednesday, 29 May 2019 to continue his work after being chased out and locked out from his office by some irate youth of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He told Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Wednesday that: “I am going to the office this morning to continue working for Ghana”.

“The right authority will deal with the irate youth who engaged in that action,” he said.

He denied the embezzlement accusation levelled against him by the youth, saying: “There is no basis for that accusation.”

The angry youth forcefully dragged Mr Osei Nti out on Tuesday afternoon.

They stormed the premises of the Krachi West District Assembly in the afternoon.

He was subsequently placed under military protection for his safety.

The leader of the irate youth said they took the DCE out gently without manhandling him, adding that they merely wanted to have a peaceful conversation with him.

The Deputy Oti Regional Minister, Mr Maxwell Blagogee has condemned the action.

He told Blessed Sogah in an interview that the DCE “is representing the president”, and, so, if the youth had any concerns and reservations about his tenure of office, they should have first reported the matter to the Regional Ministry for redress rather than take the law into their own hands.

He later told Valentina Ofori-Afriyie on Class91.3FM’s 505 news programme that “the law must deal with them”, adding that: “If they are party members, and so what?”
