Martin Amidu’s 26 list of cases authentic; he will strike soon – Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Bako Jnr., has asked Ghanaians to be patient with the Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu.

A lot of people who were hopeful in Martin Amidu’s appointment believed dozens of people would have been prosecuted already. However, they seem to be disappointed especially as various excuses keep coming from his office.

Reacting to this on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme, Saturday, Kweku Baako was still hopeful Martin Amidu can deliver.

“I am not disappointed; Very optimistic…this is an office that was created less than two years ago. This is a new creature and there was a reason why we all supported this creature…it’s too early for us to judge. There are some people who are agitating, they think that they want to see their political opponents or perceived business opponent dealt with. They are in a hurry…people are looking for fast track, speed and I am saying we should take our time…They say justice hurried is justice buried; I have patience…”

26 cases @ SP Office

It has been revealed 26 cases are currently at the office of the Special Prosecutor. This list even though a lot have cast doubt on it, includes names of former and current appointees as well as high profiled personalities including former President John Dramani Mahama.

Reacting to this, Kweku Baako said per his checks, said the list was authentic, adding it was ‘intercepted or leaked or both’.
