Woman kills husband with grinding stone
A fifty-two-year old man Michael Opey Lamptey has allegedly been killed by his wife, Rebecca Lamptey ,a psychiatric patient, by crashing his head severally with a grinding stone.
The deceased was reportedly attacked by his wife while sleeping. Reports say he bled profusely before his passing .
The incident occurred May 9,2019 at Aboabo, a community near Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital.
The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, told Starr News upon receipt of information about the incident, a team of investigators were dispatched to the scene and found the deceased lying in a prone position in a pool of blood with severe fracture in the head and face completely deformed.
He said after taking inventories of the crime scene, the body was conveyed to the St. Joseph Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
He said the suspect was arrested while the grinding stone has been kept as exhibit.
The Assembly Member for Aboabo Electoral Area, Achirah Samuel Tettey told Starr News the Couple settled in the community about 5 years ago after building their own house.
According to him, the mental problem of the suspect intermittently triggers causing her to engage in several misconduct in the community .
