Power supply to some parts of Accra will be interrupted over the next three days.
This follows routine maintenance works by the Power Distribution Services Company (PDS) on some of its supply stations.
The exercise which started on Thursday, April 25, 2019 will end on Sunday April 28, 2019.
On the first day, the areas that were affected were; Medie, Papase, Adjin Kotoku, Amanfrom, Odumasi, Kokrobitey, Langma, Red Top and its environs.
Also, consumers of electricity living or working in Adenta, Dodowa, Pantang, Oyarifa, Teiman, Ayi Mensah, Abokobi as well as Redco Flats and Madina, should witness cuts in power supply between 10 am and 5pm on Friday April 26, 2019.
Meanwhile on Sunday, power connection to Kanda, Nima 441, Osu, Kuku Hill and Cantonments will also be interrupted for the same period of time.
Information available to Citi Business News indicates that the interruptions are not as a result of low power generation but the power distributor needs to carry out the exercise to enable it undertake routine maintenance of some facilities at stations supplying the affected areas.
There has been intermittent supply of power to parts of the country over the past two months.
The development prompted several assurances from the Ministry of Energy on efforts to rectify the situation.
Though a tie-in of gas pipelines connecting power production plants in Takoradi in the Western to region to Tema in the Greater Accra region was expected to bring a lasting solution to the issue, some parts of the country have been experiencing cuts in power supply.
But the PDS is confident that its engineers together with other stakeholders will address all challenges facing consumers of electricity soon.
