A Kumasi-based pastor, Akwasi Awuah has lambasted Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, describing his death prophecies as “foolish”.
Evangelist Awuah during one of his sermons captured on camera was heard scolding Rev. Owusu Bempah over some “doom” prophecies the latter gave during his December 31 church service, particularly the death of the National Chief Imam, Sheik Usman Nuru Sharubutu, Former President John Agyekum Kuffour and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The evangelist argues that aside the fact that death is inevitable, Sheik Usman Nuru Sharubutu and Mr. Kuffour have achieved their purpose on earth hence it’s no news if they lose their lives.
“How can you prophesy that a 100-year-old man will die? If you clock 100, what is left for you to accomplish?” He asked.
“So God never revealed anything about false prophets? Is this a prophecy? And the annoying aspect is when he says it’s provisional, it’s unconfirmed. Such a foolish prophecy. Which part in the Bible did God ask a prophet to deliver an unconfirmed message? Whoever was sent by God ended his message with ‘thou sayeth the Lord’. So for you to say it’s not confirmed means it’s your prediction.”
He further beseeched Owusu Bempah to rather focus on winning souls for the Kingdom if indeed he is a man of God.
He said: “Some false prophets said Shatta Wale will die by December meanwhile he is walking around. Stop the tomfoolery and preach salvation. Some chiefs are selling same plots of land to different people; speak against that… Fake prophet.
“Go and tell Kuffour to quit freemason or he will go to hell. Telling him he’s going to die is senseless. I pray they accept Christ because God doesn’t desire the death of a sinner. Thieves and fools parading themselves as prophets.”
Irate Muslim youth vandalise Owusu Bempah’s church
Some irate Muslim youth wielding machetes and other crude weapons on January 2, 2019 vandalised one of the branches of Rev. Owusu Bempah’s church for prophesying that the Chief Imam may die this year.
The youth who threatened to do worse if the man of God fails to apologise, but rescinded their decision when the Chief Imam appealed for calm. He called on those incensed by the prophecy to forgive the pastor.
