Owusu Eduomi, NAPO, Akoto Osei others ranked high in survey on MP’s

A survey conducted by the INSTITUTE ON LEGISLATIVE CHECKS, in Ashanti Region on various Members of Parliament has revealed that, Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency and Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Honorable Owusu Eduomi adjudged the “most receptive, considerate Parliamentary Member committed to impacting lives and fulfillment of Promises to his constituents,” the coveted category of awards, as explained by its Public Relations officer.

Minister for Agriculture Honorable Akoto Osei, Member of Parliament and Education Minister Honorable Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh ,the Member of Parliament for Bekwai and Deputy Speaker speaker of Parliament Honorable Joseph Osei Wusu followed up in an ascending sequence, respectively.

Director of operations of the Institute Mrs Irene Edwards, explained the accuracy in this survey is presented by the methodology used which is a questionnaire and Ashanti Region as its ‘sample size.’ Areas of assessment and appraisal were on Commitments of MPs, Availability of MPs to their constituents, Accessibility to MPs, Promise fulfilling of Promises and Moment of Truth, Hardworking. The Institute explained that, the overall Winner Honorable Owusu Eduomi’s Ejisu Constituency is among top constituencies which produces votes substantial enough to the success of the governing New Patriotic Party.

She explained that, this exercise was fairly conducted with a view to establishing the impact of Members of Parliament to the governed as a measure of evaluating the efforts of legislative arm of government and to serve as a reminder to them, on what their core duties are- Representative of the People.

Others such as Minister for Sports Isaac Asiamah, Deputy Education Minister Osei Adutwum, Yaw, MP for Ahafo Ano North Sanid, Adamu Suleman, Chairman of Government Assurance Committee and MP for Manhyia North Collins Owusu Amankwa were named good in remaining  categories.

She further explained that, this exercise is geared towards awakening Parliamentarians to be conscious of their core mandate. Its mission, she explained is to serve as a system of Check and Balance on the legislature. Similar exercises , she opined are being carried out in other regions and that, soon they would make available the details to the public.
