Newly absorbed teachers appeals to government over unpaid salaries

It would be recalled that the Ghana education service recruited some teachers on October last year. These teachers were to teach in the Neely absorbed schools by the Ghana Education Service. Upon assumption of duty , barely seven months now their salaries are not being paid by government.

The most worrying thing is that, these teachers were posted to rural areas. For instance, some were posted to Opoku Agyemang s.h.s, Akwasi Awobaa s.h.s, Osei Adutwum s.h.s , Tweapeasi s.h.s, Afigyaman s.h.s, Apagya Comm Day, Bodomase s.h.s, Effiduasi sec/tech, Kwanwoman s.h.s, St.Sebastian s.h.s, St. Michaels voc/tech, Duadaso no 1 Comm Day sch, Gyarko Comm Day, Abeadze state College, Ayanfuri s.h.s, Sang Comm Day, Adaklu s.h.s, Kyabobo girls s.h.s,

The challenge confronting all of them is that, they are not getting any information from both the ministry of education and the Ghana education servise, Accommodation and transportational cost which is making it difficult for their survival. About seven months now, they  have not even processed their biometric registration let alone being paid .This has become a major impediment to the work and making them less efficient. This is because they are unable to attend classes or school on regular basis ..

In fact, the most worrying aspect of it all, is the lack of Communication and information on the part of Ghana education service to them.

We are therefore appealing to the government, Ministry of education, and the Ghana Education service to do the needful. The newly Absorbed schools teachers were recruited first (1st October 2018) but much attention is giving to the double truck teachers than them. And we can all testify that, it is not fair. They have been working since 1st of October 2018 till now, not even staff id’s have been generated for them.

we believe strongly in the competency of the government and hope that this issue will be treated with all the seriousness it deserves.

Absorbed Teachers are starving……
