Lee Ocran was a ‘fighter’ – Mahama

Former President John Mahama has described the late former Education Minister Lee Ocran, as a “fighter”.

The former High Commissioner to South Africa died before midnight on Thursday, 21 February 2019 at his residence in Accra.

The National Democratic Congress’ ex-MP for Jomoro had been unwell days to his death.

“It has been a sad morning for me … Lee has been a fighter in the trenches, we have been in the trenches together and for everybody who knows him, we have lost a very fine member of our party,” Mr Mahama told Accra-based Radio Gold on Friday, 22 February 2019.

Mr Mahama further expressed his condolences to the family of Mr Ocran and said he plans to visit them in the afternoon on Friday.

Mr Mahama said he visited Mr Ocran when he was at the hospital and was hoping he would get well but “God knows best”.
