Newly-signed Ivorian striker, Dani Zabo Teguy, has told Kotoko Express he will fight to gain a place in coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor’s starting eleven as he discloses his ambitions at Kotoko.
The forward, who was one of the two new signings in the January transfer window, said he wants to win the goal-king title in the domestic league and also push the club in the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.
Teguy arrived at the side already in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and needing all the firepower it can master to keep afloat in the competition.
The Ivorian acknowledged in his maiden interview, with the club, the enormous talent in the team, but said he has eyes to become the leading scorer domestically and would go the full haul to catch the C.K Akonnor’s attention.
“I want to be the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League when it returns”, said the soft-spoken player. “I also want to make a good impact in the CAF Confederation Cup to help Kotoko achieve their target in the competition.”
“I can see that the players here are very good”, he continued. “I see them play at the training grounds and I am happy to be part of such a talented group of players.”
“It won’t be difficult for me to penetrate into the first team or the starting line-up”, Teguy said in response to a question on how easy or difficult it would be for him to secure a starting berth. “I know myself and knows that the coach would spot my quality and put me in if I push myself at training”.
