Kaizer chiefs visit Asantehene ahead of Toyota Cup clash with Kotoko

Officials of South African football giants Kaizer Chiefs have paid a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi ahead of their upcoming Toyota Cup encounter with Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko.

The prestigious match is scheduled for July 28 in South Africa as part of this year’s Toyota Cup celebrations.

During the visit, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expressed strong confidence in the strength and readiness of Asante Kotoko while commending Kaizer Chiefs for their historic legacy and impact on African football.

He applauded the growing bond between the two clubs and highlighted football’s unique role in fostering unity across cultures and nations.

The visit served as a reaffirmation of the friendship between the two sides, with the upcoming match seen not just as a game, but a celebration of shared heritage and mutual respect.

The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both sides exchanging goodwill and committing to future collaborations.

Asante Kotoko are expected to depart Ghana next week in preparation for the much-anticipated showdown in South Africa.
