The Ghana Football Association has given official clearance to Asante Kotoko to travel to South Africa for a high-profile international friendly against Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, and will serve as a key preparatory fixture for both sides ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

This will be the latest chapter in the historic rivalry between two of Africa’s most iconic clubs, with both teams boasting massive fan bases and rich continental pedigree.

The clash is expected to attract global attention and reinforce football ties between Ghana and South Africa.

The GFA has expressed its full support for the engagement, urging Asante Kotoko to use the opportunity to fine-tune their squad and gain valuable international experience ahead of their continental campaign.

Kotoko, who finished strong last season to secure a CAF slot, will look to test their new signings and tactical approach against a familiar continental opponent.
