Two robbery suspects arrested after leaving phone at scene

The Suntreso District Police Command in the Ashanti Region has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Alignment, a suburb of Kwadaso Estate.

The suspects have been identified as 22-year-old Issah Abdul and 20-year-old Abdul Rahman.

According to police reports, the duo allegedly attacked their victim and made away with a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone valued at GH¢2,000 and other personal belongings.

The suspects, who were armed with a machete and riding an unregistered blue motorbike, left behind a key piece of evidence—one of them dropped his Samsung mobile phone at the crime scene.

The victim later retrieved the phone and submitted it to the police, which led to the suspects’ arrest at Sofoline.

During a search, officers retrieved five mobile phones and an amount of GH¢1,690.

A statement from the police confirmed that the suspects admitted to the crime during interrogation and led officers to the location where they had hidden the machete used in the attack.
