Nkwanta South: Traveler robbed and shot

The victim has been rushed to St. Joseph Hospital in Nkwanta for medical attention.

The incident occurred when the victim was travelling from Kue, a farming community, to Nkwanta, the Municipal capital.

Joseph Awal Antwi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, the victim was shot between Odomi and Nkwanta.

He explained that the gunmen opened fire on the victim, took away his motorbike and left him in the middle of the road.

The MCE expressed concern over the rising insecurity in the area and appealed to the factions to give peace a chance.

The incident has sparked fear and anxiety among residents, who are demanding increased security measures to prevent such attacks in the future.

The authorities have been urged to take swift action to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice

The victim’s condition is currently unknown as Ghana News Agency’s attempt to elicit further information has proved futile.
