In a gesture highlighting his faith, the former Minister of Food and Agriculture visited the Moderator and members of the General Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Dr. Acheampong described the meeting as a deeply moving experience filled with prayer, reflection, and anointing.
Following the visit, Dr. Acheampong posted on X, “Today, I visited the Moderator and some members of the General Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. I reaffirmed the spiritual roots that have shaped my values, my leadership, and my sense of purpose. It was a deeply moving encounter filled with reflection, prayer, and anointing. Faith is not just a part of my story, it is the foundation on which it stands.”
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Dr. Acheampong emphasized the spiritual importance of his presidential ambition, stating that it was crucial to first seek the Church’s blessings and prayerful support. “I want to start with God and finish with God. I’m a politician and you know how treacherous the political journey can be, and God is the requirement for a journey like this, and the requirement for life. Therefore, I needed to see the church and seek their blessings and continuous prayer while I embark on this journey,” he explained.
Dr. Bryan Acheampong is anticipated to face strong competition in the NPP flagbearer race, with notable contenders expected to include former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, as the party prepares for the December 7, 2028, general elections.
