F*** the FBI”: Accra Partygoers Send Brazen Message Amidst High-Profile Arrests

As Ghanaians grapple with recent reports of high-profile individuals being arrested by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for alleged involvement in fraud, a group of audacious partygoers in Accra has publicly declared their defiance.

In viral footage circulating on social media since June 22, 2025, an upscale nightclub in the capital became the stage for a bold and provocative display. The video captures a group of revellers, self-proclaimed “ballers,” placing a lavish order for premium drinks. Before the expensive bottles were presented, a waiter paraded through the crowd, prominently holding a sign that read, in no uncertain terms, “F* the FBI.”

The video, captioned “Ballers fully active,” quickly ignited a firestorm online, not only for its sheer extravagance but, more significantly, for its direct and confrontational message aimed at the U.S. federal agency.

The timing of this audacious stunt has raised considerable eyebrows and sparked heated reactions across social media platforms. It comes amidst ongoing FBI investigations and arrests of Ghanaian nationals suspected of involvement in international financial crimes.

Unsurprisingly, netizens have widely condemned the act, interpreting it as a direct provocation and a mockery of the FBI’s recent operations in Ghana. Comments poured in, reflecting public sentiment: “Kwasiasɛm sei aaa then they will come and pick you up,” one user warned, implying foolish behavior. Another cautioned, “It’s all fun until you’re the one in custody.” A third user expressed a desire for cooperation with authorities, stating, “FBI, recruit us to root all of them out. We value our image and will gladly cooperate.”

This incident unfolds in the wake of significant developments in May and June 2025, when reports confirmed that the FBI had conducted covert operations in Accra. These operations led to the arrest of several individuals, including prominent businessmen Nana Kojo Boateng, also known as Dada Joe Remix, and Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Kofi Boat.

Sources indicate that these individuals had been under investigation by U.S. authorities for an extended period, suspected of their alleged roles in complex financial crimes, including elaborate romance scams and money laundering schemes. Extradition proceedings are reportedly underway to transfer them to the United States to face trial.

The brazen display at the Accra nightclub underscores a concerning disconnect within certain segments of society regarding the severity and implications of these international fraud investigations.
