Okyehene Graces 2025 Ohumkan Festival with Majestic Convoy

The Overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, made a regal entrance into Akyem Old Tafo on Saturday, June 21, 2025, to attend the grand durbar of the Ohumkan Festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of the area.

The Okyehene’s arrival was marked by a majestic procession, led by a convoy of high-end vehicles, including Toyota Land Cruisers, Lexus SUVs, and his own elegant black Rolls Royce, symbolizing both tradition and modern prestige.

This year’s festival was particularly significant as it also marked the 40th anniversary of the enstoolment of Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV, the Omanhene of Akyem Old Tafo.

The 2025 Ohumkan Festival officially commenced with a ban on drumming and noise-making from June 3 to June 17, culminating in a vibrant week-long celebration featuring cultural performances, inter-school competitions, health activities, and a reaffirmation of unity and heritage among the people.
