It was inhumane — Jose Mourinho slams Osimhen’s Galatasaray for allowing goalkeeper to take penalty

Galatasaray secured their 25th Süper Lig title after thrashing Kayserispor 3-0 at Rams Park on Sunday, May 18.

Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen scored the opener in the 26th minute before Barış Yılmaz doubled the lead three minutes later.

At 2-0, Galatasaray handed their goalkeeper the penalty responsibility in the 89th minute, with the Uruguayan converting from the spot to seal a remarkable victory for Okan Buruk’s side.

The goal was the 38-year-old’s second in his 14-year spell at the club.

The gesture, which was widely celebrated by the Galatasaray faithful, left José Mourinho incensed.

“The way you celebrate championships shows your human condition,” the Special One told reporters.

“Today’s championship celebrations were like a summary of the stories during the season.

“When it was 2-0, they made the goalkeeper take a penalty, which was a great image to show how humane they are.”
