Two arrested for stealing iron rods from Agenda 111 construction site in Kasoa

The suspects, who are part of a three-man group, were intercepted while transporting the materials on a tricycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was half-loaded with iron rods when authorities moved in.

Further investigations confirmed that the construction materials were stolen from the Agenda 111 project site at Jei River, Kasoa.

A security guard stationed at Odupong Senior High School is credited with helping to facilitate the arrest. His alertness and swift response played a key role in enabling the police to capture the suspects.

However, one suspect managed to escape and is currently on the run.

The Kasoa Ofaakor Jei River Police have launched a manhunt for the third individual and are urging the public to assist with any information that could lead to his arrest.

The two apprehended suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.

In response to the incident, the Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East Assembly, Seth Banini, visited both the crime scene and the construction site.

He strongly condemned the theft, warning the youth of Kasoa against engaging in criminal activities that could damage the area’s reputation.

“This is a national project meant to benefit our people. Acts like this only slow down development and cast a negative image on the community,” he said.

Banini also reaffirmed his commitment to creating job opportunities for the youth, urging them to channel their energy into constructive and lawful ventures that will contribute to their personal growth and the development of Kasoa.
