At just 17 years old, Jonah Kusi-Asare is already making headlines at Bayern Munich, dazzling fans with his raw talent, towering presence, and goal-scoring prowess. From Sweden to the Bundesliga
Born on July 4, 2007, in Solna, Sweden, Kusi-Asare is the son of former professional footballer Jones Kusi-Asare, a Swedish-Ghanaian, and a Finnish mother. With eligibility to represent Ghana, Sweden, and Finland at the international level, his international future remains open—but his club career is already taking off.
Kusi-Asare began his footballing journey at IF Brommapojkarna before making a move to Swedish giants AIK in January 2023. Just months later, on August 28, he etched his name into the history books by becoming AIK’s youngest-ever debutant in Sweden’s top flight at just 16 years, 1 month, and 24 days old. He went on to make four league appearances that season, showcasing his prodigious talent.
Bayern Comes Calling
On February 1, 2024, Kusi-Asare’s growing reputation earned him a €4.5 million move to German powerhouse Bayern Munich. Initially signed for the club’s U19 squad, his rapid development saw him promoted to Bayern Munich II ahead of the 2024–25 season.
He made his debut for the reserves on August 30, 2024, in a Regionalliga Bayern clash against DJK Vilzing. That same season, he was called up to the senior squad for a Bundesliga fixture against Mainz 05 on December 14. Just a few weeks later, he made his unofficial first-team debut in a friendly against Red Bull Salzburg, replacing Michael Olise in a dominant 6–0 win.

Though Kusi-Asare has represented Sweden at the U16 and U17 levels, he has yet to feature for the senior national team—keeping the door open for Ghana to make a move.
