How to position oneself as an event vendor to maximise profit

Global event professional Funke Bucknor-Obruthe has urged event vendors and all stakeholders in the event industry to embrace versatility and promptness in their work in order to maximise profit.
She emphasised the importance of building an event brand around a unique niche that sets it apart from others.
Bucknor-Obruthe, who has many years of experience in the event space, highlighted the value of collaboration among the various sectors of event coordination.
Speaking to GhanaWeb Business during the launch of The Event Experience Africa 2026, which is set to be hosted in Ghana, she shared practical tips with vendors on how to maximise profit and strengthen their brands in the minds of clients.
She outlined:
• Identify your clients and understand their needs.
• Understand the different generations and what they want.
• Know who you are, what you want, why you want it, understand your purpose.
• Identify your core strengths and skills.
• Position yourself to attract the right clients.
The event brings together not only event planners but also food vendors, florists, ushers, photographers, videographers, DJs, MCs, and more.
Designed for networking, collaboration, and long-term opportunities, the event is scheduled to take place in Ghana from January 20 to January 23, 2026.
