Over 100 women trained in liquid soap production in Tema West

Over 100 women in the Suncity area of Adjei-Kojo in Tema West have taken a significant step toward financial independence after completing a three-day training workshop on liquid soap, shower gel, and Power Zone production.
The workshop, organized by Renel Ghana International in collaboration with the BHOG Foundation, aimed to equip women with essential entrepreneurial skills to reduce dependency and foster economic growth within the community.
Tema West MCE hopeful, Edita Wilson, encouraged participants to stay focused on their goals and assured them of her unwavering support as they work to grow their businesses. “I am always ready to help you succeed, and I believe this skill can be a powerful tool for your personal and financial growth,” Wilson said.
Building on the success of this training, similar programs will be held in BBF and Kanewu, aiming to reach over 250 women and help them establish soap-making businesses. This initiative will not only foster individual growth but also contribute to local job creation, addressing the need for sustainable employment opportunities.
Bernice Ocran Dodoo, Programs Manager at Renel Ghana International, emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering women by providing them with valuable skills that reduce dependency and contribute to a stronger local economy. “At Renel Ghana, we are committed to supporting women and helping them build a foundation for financial independence,” Dodoo remarked.
The beneficiaries of the training expressed their gratitude, with Joyce Barker, one of the participants, sharing how the skills she gained will ease the financial burden of paying her children’s school fees. “This training is a huge relief, and it will make a difference in my life and the lives of my children,” she said.
The initiative was also supported by Barikisu Mahei, a former Assembly Member aspirant for Adjei-Kojo, who played a key role in organizing the event. Mahei expressed her eagerness to expand the training to other communities within Tema West, ensuring more women benefit from this valuable opportunity.
Through this transformative program, these women are now better equipped to start their own businesses, reduce dependency, and create opportunities for themselves and their families, making a lasting impact on the community.
