Watch as KNUST student accused of murdering girlfriend makes second court appearance

Reports from March 2, 2025, said that Joana Deladem Yabani, a Level 400 KNUST student, was allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend.

In a video shared on X by SIKAOFFICIAL, Tuffour is seen in handcuffs and wearing a nose mask.

He is seen dressed in a multicolored Lacoste shirt, jeans, and sandals, while surrounded by police officers as he is escorted into what appears to be the courtroom.

The footage also captured a woman, believed to be his mother, weeping uncontrollably outside the court premises.

The case has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many expressing outrage and calling for justice for Joana.

Tuffour is expected to provide answers regarding the alleged murder, as the investigation continues to unfold.

Joana Deladem Yabani was found dead near the Central Laboratory on the university campus in the early hours of Thursday, February 27, 2025.

In a statement, the university confirmed that her body was discovered close to the KNUST Disability and Rehabilitation Centre around 5:00 a.m. on February 27, 2025.

The tragic killing sparked widespread outrage, particularly among KNUST students, many of whom demanded increased security and stricter protective measures on campus.

It also reignited discussions about the broader issue of violence against women, with advocacy groups calling for systemic reforms to protect vulnerable individuals.
