Fire razes four wooden rooms at Manukrom

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, March 11, destroyed all belongings of the two occupants of the structure.

Narrating the ordeal to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Mr. Christopher Gyapong, Headteacher of Manukrom D/A Basic School and one of the tenants, said he learned about the tragic event while teaching. He rushed to the scene, only to find his belongings consumed by the flames.

He attributed the fire to frequent power fluctuations in the area, which may have sparked the blaze.

“I have lost everything except the clothes I wore to class. This is a very sad moment for me,” he lamented.

Nicholas Akwaleno, Assembly Member for the Kramokrom Electoral Area, expressed concern over the incident and appealed to the government, through the District Assembly, to assist the affected individuals.

He also called for decent accommodation for teachers to motivate them and enhance educational performance in the community.
