Some Ghanaians have expressed shock at the current government’s decision to burn excavators in the fight against illegal mining.
Many expected a different approach, especially after the current administration had previously criticized Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government for using the same method.
This reaction follows reports of a raid on illegal miners in the Range Forest Reserve in the Eastern Region, where four excavators were burned.
The public response has been one of disappointment, as many had hoped for a more effective and innovative strategy from John Dramani Mahama’s government.
