Woman arrested in connection with death of Asante Kotoko supporter Pooley

The Ghana Police Service have served notice that one more suspect, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, also known as Akosua Black Chinese, has been arrested following chaos that rocked a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
The arrest of Akosua Black Chinese has taken the number of persons arrested so far to six as investigations continue into the melee.
In a statement released on February 6, 2025, the police stated that Akosua Ntiriwaa was involved in the chaos that took place at Nsoatre during the violence and will be interrogated.
“The Ghana Police Service have arrested one more suspect, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, alias Akosua Black Chinese, in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC on February 2, 2025. This brings the total number of suspects arrested so far to six,” the statement read.
The police assured the public that they are working diligently to bring perpetrators to justice and serve the deceased’s family.
“The intelligence-led operation and investigation are ongoing to ensure all perpetrators connected to the incident are arrested and brought to justice.”
Meanwhile, Nsoatreman owner Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, along with a policeman bodyguard, were granted bail following a court hearing on February 4, 2025.
The three individuals are expected to reappear in court on February 17, 2025.
Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley was fatally stabbed during a melee at a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman and Kotoko on February 2, 2025.
