In August, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International made headlines with his prediction of victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
Shortly after Dr Bawumia conceded defeat, videos circulating on social media show members of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International in a jubilant mood, seemingly celebrating what they believe is the fulfillment of their leader’s prophecy.
Church members were seen singing, dancing, and expressing their elation as their leader’s prophecy has come to pass.
While official results are yet to be declared by the Electoral Commission, the enthusiasm among the church members underscores the significant role that religion and spiritual beliefs play in Ghanaian politics.
Results from the various constituencies are being announced following the counting and collation of votes at the various polling and collation centres across the country.
The exercise, which is being held at the various collation centres in the country is aimed at promoting transparency and fairness in the electioneering process.
Dr Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP conceded defeat despite the failure of the EC to declare any result so far.
