Osimhen leads Dzeko, Immobile in crucial Turkish Super Lig stats

Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has hit the ground running in Turkey since joining Galatasaray in early September.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year joined the Super Lig title holders on a season-long loan from Napoli after his failed transfer to either Chelsea or Al Ahli.

The Super Eagles star has now established himself as the mainstay in the Galatasaray attack following the injury to Mauro Icardi, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Osimhen has netted nine goals and provided six assists in 12 appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side.

In the Super Lig, Osimhen has registered six goals and three assists for Galatasaray, according to Transfermarkt.

Despite missing five matches due to injury, Osimhen has taken 41 shots in the league—more than any other player.

In second place is veteran Edin Dzeko, who has managed 31 shots for Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side.

Osimhen, however, has a poor conversion rate, with just 15 of those shots on target for his side.
